Dear all, for the last 7 years I have been using Ubuntu as my primary operating system. Ubuntu is the only OS which can fulfill my all requirements from personal computing to entertainment. This is first time I am trying to start my blog which is basically targeted to common peoples, mostly who are Windows users, ex Windows users , and new Ubuntu users. I will appreciate if this blog can help you in everyday computing with world's most popular linux based operating system.
Let me start from some best apps available in Ubuntu software center. I assume that all of you are familiar with Ubuntu software center. It is same as Google play store in your android mobile phone. All the difference is that it is much secure than Google play store in the sense that whenever you install or remove some software , every time it asks your system password. So, open your Ubuntu software center and install following applications.
(1) Dictionary application (Artha)
This is the most necessary application for your computer. Though there are many online dictionaries are available now a days , but we always search for an offline one. Windows users may familiar with "Wordweb" which is most popular offline dictionary for Windows till date. Unfortunately Wordweb is not available for Ubuntu. Though there are lots of dictionary apps available, I am presenting here the best one, "Artha". Artha adopts similer environment as wordweb, The rest you will experience yourself.
(2) PDF editor (Master Pdf editor)
Adobe reader may provides all necessary editing options in Windows but not for Ubuntu. But Master Pdf Editor gives you much more. Experience it.
(3) Latex editor (Gummi)
Latex is consider tas the best platform for publishing documents. Windows users may use Texmaker and Ubuntu users may like Kile. But I assure you that "Gummi" provides you an unique experience that none of other editors give you. Try it and make your work more productive.
